2005 MacArthur Trophy Recipient

The University of Texas is this year's recipient of The MacArthur Trophy. At 13-0, Texas rolled through the regular season on their way to defeating the USC Trojans, 41-38, in the Rose Bowl, this year's BCS national championship game. The trophy was presented to Texas Head Coach Mack Brown, Athletics Director DeLoss Dodds and the Longhorns at a press conference the day following the game. It represents the fourth time Texas has claimed the prize. The Longhorns previously won the award in 1963 and 1969 and shared it with Ohio State in 1970.
